Packing for a holiday can be a pretty tense time to say the least and adding baggage allowance restrictions into the mix just increases the stress. One way to relieve the fear of being over the allowance yet still having a number of fantastic outfits lined up is to create a capsule holiday wardrobe. M&Co are currently running a competition asking bloggers and anyone with a website to create their perfect capsule holiday wardrobe for less than £100. After browsing their website and falling head over heels in love with this amazing petite maxi dress, I knew that I had to enter the competition. Here are the pieces that I would pop in my dream capsule holiday wardrobe if I were off to somewhere with a far warmer climate than England.
Paisley Print Linen Skirt £29 A wearable skirt is a must for a capsule holiday wardrobe. They’re perfect for daytime with flip flops or low sandals and can also be worn in the evening by swapping the day time shoes for wedges and some nice chunky jewellery. The monochrome colours of the skirt means that it can be worn with also any coloured top, making it ideal for a capsule wardrobe.
Petite Tropical Print Maxi Dress £42 When I was taking a look through the M&Co website and spotted this beauty it was a no brainer that it would be something I would have in my capsule holiday wardrobe. Petite maxi dresses are hard to come by, particularly as pretty as this one! Similar to the skirt, this dress can be worn from day to evening, which is paramount for a capsule wardrobe. Plus the lovely blue colour will help show off your tan!
Statement Bead Drop Necklace £15 Due to their ability to make even the most casual of outfits look more polished, statement necklaces are a must in any capsule wardrobe. Pop this necklace on with the skirt and a cami top to take the outfit from day to evening with very little effort!
Essential Cami Top in Navy and Mauve £5 each Ah, strappy tops are my absolute saviour when it comes to holiday packing. They’re inexpensive, don’t take up much room and are lightweight so perfect if you’re heading to somewhere where the weather is hot! Take a couple of different colours, mix and match them with the paisley print skirt or a pair of monochrome trousers and bam – you have outfits in an instant so you can spend more time enjoying your holiday than deciding what to wear.
Total cost: £96
Under budget and with change leftover for a drink at the airport. Success!
I’d love to know what you think about the pieces i’ve put in my capsule wardrobe here. If you’d like to enter, head over to the M&Co blog for all the information.
