Saturday Afternoon at the Museum

Last Saturday, with a want to do something different to our usual weekend shopping trips, me and my boyfriend headed off to the Warrington Museum and Art Gallery. Neither of us had ever been before (mostly because we only learnt of its existence a couple of months ago) but as it is only a twenty minute drive away we decided that last Saturday afternoon was the perfect opportunity to check it out.

I didn’t take many pictures, but as you can see from what I’ve shown here there is quite the variety of things to see; from fossils, minerals and dinosaurs to fabric, mummies and even model fish! My favourite of course being the sections showing modern history and how life has changed since the early 1900s. The museum also has a really cute Alice in Wonderland room featuring some fantastic cartoon style paintings of characters, with a little table that had plastic cups and saucers on it so that children could have pretend tea parties – such a sweet idea!
So, if you’re thinking of a way to spend an afternoon this weekend I really suggest checking out a local museum that you’ve never been to before. You never know what you might see!

Love visiting local museums, my local one shows the history of the city. It’s so exciting look at photographs of what the town used to look like! xx
